Introduction to MH-CET |
Admissions to the Undergraduate Programmes in Engineering/Technology in the State of Maharashtra are made through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET).
Pattern of Examination
Entrance examination for engineering consists of two papers each of 100 marks. First paper consists Physics and Chemistry of equal weightage and second paper consists of Mathematics. All the questions are of objective type questions. Physics and Chemistry are of 50 marks each while Mathematics is of 100 marks. There is no choice among the questions, i.e. all questions have to be answered.
Scoring and Negative Marking
Separate OMR sheets will be provided for both the papers. The candidate will be required to mark the correct answer by blackening the corresponding circle against the serial number of the question in the answer sheet with black ink ballpoint pen only. Out of four bubbles provided for selection of an answer against a question, the candidate should fill up one bubble only. Each correct answer will be given marks. There shall be NO Negative marking for wrong answers. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will not be marked.
Time and duration of Examination
Duration of both the papers - Paper 1 (Physics + Chemistry) and Paper 2 (Mathematics) will be one and half hours.
Language of Question Paper
Language of Question Paper: The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics and Chemistry. However, Mathematics paper shall be in English only.
Syllabus of Examination
Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for the MH-CET will be the same as for the current year for HSC Examination (i.e. March 2012) of HSC Boards of Maharashtra.
